About Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP)

Mission

Our mission is to provide quality legal representation to low-income and vulnerable people in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties, to empower them to solve problems without legal representation through legal education and increased access to the courts, and to change community practices and systems that cause or aggravate poverty.

History

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA was founded 25 years ago, on Jan. 1, 2001, when 4 longstanding local legal aid programs joined forces to form LASP.

For 25 years, we have brought access to justice in Bucks, Chester, Delaware & Montgomery counties. To better serve clients, LASP has local offices in Bristol, Chester City (Delaware County), Doylestown, Media (Domestic Violence Office), Norristown, Pottstown and West Chester.

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP) was created January 1, 2001 when four former legal services programs joined forces:

  • Bucks County Legal Aid Society

  • Montgomery County Legal Aid Service

  • Legal Aid of Chester County

  • Delaware County Legal Assistance Association

LASP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
