Delaware County Community College paralegal students, under the supervision of LASP attorneys, will assist individuals from Greater Philadelphia to determine whether they are eligible to have certain prior arrests or convictions expunged or sealed.
Having one’s criminal record expunged refers to removing certain offenses from a person’s record. Please note that in some instances, certain convictions cannot be expunged and will remain on the record. However, these same convictions could possibly be sealed from the general public.
Expungement is available for:
Non-conviction dispositions (charges were dismissed, withdrawn, nolle prossed, not guilty, etc.).
ARD/Section 17 if you have completed all of the requirements.
Summary convictions if you have five subsequent years free from arrest.
Summary convictions if you were under 18 at the time of the offense, are now over 18 AND six months have passed since you completed the sentence and paid the fine.
Misdemeanor and felony convictions if you are 70+ years old and have a 10-year arrest-free period since the end of your sentence (including probation or parole).
If acquitted on all charges, expungement is automatic.
Please note that due to the location of individuals’ criminal records, such as Philadelphia and/or outside of Pennsylvania, participants may be referred to another legal organization for assistance.

WAYNE - Run, walk and rally for Legal Aid of Southeastern PA at the 21st annual Trial Run 5K! Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to join us on Sunday morning, Oct. 25, 2026 when the race returns to Wilson Farm Park, 500 Lee Road, Wayne, PA 19087 (GPS may say Chesterbrook.)
Since the Trial Run's inception in 2005, it has raised more than $290,000 for civil legal aid, helping to increase essential legal services for neighbors who cannot afford an attorney.
Registration begins at 8:15 a.m., with the race stepping off at 9 a.m., rain or shine.
Registration is $20 before Oct. 25 and $25 on race day. It includes a t-shirt, while supplies last. Participants can run or walk, and Halloween costumes are encouraged.
A little friendly competition is part of the fun, too. Awards will go to the top men’s and women’s finishers and for best costume, and the Team Competition Trophy returns for 2026.

Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania (LASP) invites the community to celebrate its 25th anniversary on Friday, Nov. 20. The evening connects one attorney’s lifelong pursuit of justice with the role that each person can play in advancing access to justice.
LASP is proud to present the regional premiere of “Stumbling Stones: The John Rosenberg Story,” written and performed by Jeff Sherr.
The acclaimed one-man performance tells the story of a Holocaust survivor, a litigator in the U.S. Dept. of Justice in the 1960s, and the founder of rural legal aid serving the Appalachian coal fields of Eastern Kentucky.
Following the performance, John Rosenberg, now age 95, and his wife, Jean, plan to participate in a live discussion and audience Q&A, offering attendees the opportunity to hear directly from two people whose lives have been intertwined with decades of human rights, legal aid, and community advocacy.

PHOENIXVILLE - Have a civil legal issue? Meet with a Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP) attorney at the Phoenixville Public Library on the first Tuesday of every month.
The free outreach event will be Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2026 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Harrop Room of the Phoenixville Public Library, 183 Second Ave., Phoenixville, PA 19460.
A LASP attorney will provide information, counseling and advocacy in a variety of civil legal areas such as:

OAKS - State Sen. Katie Muth will host a free Veteran Expo on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Hall C of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, 100 Station Ave., Oaks, PA 19456.
The Veterans Expo is a free event that provides veterans of all ages with the opportunity to connect with dozens of local and statewide veterans’ organizations and service providers to ensure they’re accessing the services and benefits they’ve earned.

CHESTER City - Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP) will hold a free monthly Record-Clearing Clinic the first Wednesday of every month,. Each clinic is from 1-4 p.m. at J. Lewis Crozer Library, 620 Engle St., Chester, PA 19013.

A LASP attorney will provide information, counseling and advocacy in a variety of civil legal areas such as:
Expungement, pardons, Social Security, unemployment compensation, public benefits, housing, consumer and bankruptcy, custody and visitation, no-asset divorce, protection from abuse, elder law, appeals, and employment issues.
LASP cannot advise on issues of criminal law, including summary offenses.
